  1. I recently got my phone locked and could do anything but take a backup of rom image using CWM. then I reset the device and got all of my contacts/data deleted(I was not able to restore the backup image due to an error). I now have the image file as .tar format. I am not able to get in which file I can find my contacts and how to open it? please help. Regards, Vipul
  2. From my understanding the ROM I would flash through clockwork mod recovery is just the operating system including the kernel and all of the applications. I see it like the windows installation disk, but in android form, correct me if I'm wrong. How would a phone be hardbricked through a ROM if it's just the operating system? Wouldn't you need to have an unsuccessful change to the bootloader or recovery partion to hardbrick? Like if windows messes up, I can still fix it as long as the bios is fine and I have an installation disk. Maybe I'm totally wrong on this but I don't know. I successfuly unlocked the bootloader today, it was pretty sketchy and I soft bricked a time or two (as expected) but it worked out. I'll probably just wait for my friend who excells at things like this to help me install CWM and CM7 on my atrix 4g.
  3. Hey guys, I made a video guide for the site about how to get the Android Chrome browser to work on custom ICS ROMs. The most recent Chrome update broke compatibility for some reason but you can fix that by making sure your build.id and display.id read IML74K. If they say anything else Chrome will not work. Also this will not work on any other ROM other than Android 4.0+. Check out the video for full instructions and let me know if it worked and with what ROM you are running. Thanks http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SkHeXJ5y84o
