Hi, firstly, apologies if this is the wrong part of the forum to ask this! I've got an Acer E380 running 4.2. I suddenly seem to have a load of "apps" in the settings>apps>all list, apps such as "MTK logger", "MTK android suite Daemon" and others such as "omacp". These all have worryingly high amounts of permissions - all are allowed to send texts, call numbers, access, modify and create contacts, accounts, etc. I have no recollection of installing these, and it looks to me to be some form of virus (and a little research online seems to back this up). I've run kasperskey and AVG virus scans yet they say my device is clean - so I'm now at all as to what to do? Is this a virus and if so, how do I remove it, as there seems to be no .apk that has caused it. Many thanks

Hi There, I have a Samsung Android Tablet on which I am trying to create some user profiles for my kids to restrict them downloading any App. I cannot seem to find it in this new tablet. This tablet has the 4.4.1 version of Android OS. In the older version 4.2 I had the option to go to Settings >> Users tab to create different profile. But in the 4.4 version I can't seem to find these options. It only shows Add Account. But this wont give me any option to restrict downloading Apps. If any of you have any idea on how to achieve this restriction policy please reply. I know there are some apps that could do this type of User restrictions but I would prefer if there is anything inbuilt within Android. Regards.

So What do we have in Android that acesses what uses permissions. What can we do better? Any development that works on all platforms? We might even get as far to create security that allows the user to control applications' permissions. In fact, I know of 'permissions Denied,' and some others, but what allows users the most direct and immediate control while still being very light and simple with no unneccesary adware?
