Revmacd
I have a friend in Canada and I sent her a Kindle Fire. It turns out they don't get the same content there that we get in the states. Anyone got a clever work around? Should we root it? Maybe just as simple as a loacation spoofer when buying content? Any thoughts would be much appreciated. shiva
All internet traffic on a Kindle Fire goes through Amazon, so using it in the US and in Canada is definitely different.
bdfull3r
You would have to root it and then most likely change the build.prop would be my guess but i am not an expert in such things. I recommend you go here for More specific root details http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1306
Revmacd
Well, I ordered it here in the states and had it delivered to my house. It's a U.S. version Kindle. I can even tether it to my credit card so the account with Amazon is here in the states. The friend using it would be in Ontario though. So my only concern is in the actual downloading of apps and content. The build is already designed for the US market. I'm leaning towards a location spoofer app but with a Fire I might have to root the device so I can side load it.
