Get .apk from .Java source files.

Hey everyone, I'm not actually a developer for Android but I have an issue that I thought someone here could solve.

I recently hired a programmer to develop an android application for our business. We paid him to develop the complicated 3D rendering section, and I want to touch up the app and add the interface myself. He sent us the APK and his source code.Problem is, the 'Source Code' he sent us is just 3 JAVA files. I feel like the source for an Android program should contain a lot more, but I don't know what I'm talking about...

Could someone please explain how I can take these three files and turn them into the .apk I need to install on Android?

Thanks.
