marielacvn
i am currently using a Samsung infuse 4g, when investigating on possible apps i could use to back up my phones data and apps, i realized how many options there were.. ..so....how to choose the best option for me? I currently have installed es file explorer, go explorer ex, and titanium backup.. ..which all offer some kind of a backup and restore option for my phone. ...the question now is which to use? I only really want to backup the apps I've downloaded, and the preferences I've selected on how I organize my apps, wallpapers, etc, keyboard settings, fonts and so forth. So now my question is out of these three, which is the most basic and user friendly app I can use to do this if the case ever arose that I lose my phone or I want to buy a new one and have everything as I have it currently installed on my present phone? I find that titanium has way more options than I really need ..es file explorer is somewhat slow and not really user friendly, and I'm not sure if go launcher is able to backup and restore all my data to another phone, or to the same model phone if I were to have to reinstall all my apps like I currently have them... can someone who has a little more knowledge on all 3 apps point me in the right direction ? I'm leaning more towards go launcher ex backup but I'm still not confident on what it really offers.... Thanks in advance to future replies and opinions M
bdfull3r
If you are rooted then titanium backup is the only app you need for straight back up purposes. The File explorers usually have limited back up capabilities and when they will backup the app, they usually don't backup the data. This is good if you need to pull the APK of an app for an unsupported device but in pointless in most other cases. Titanium backup can backup everything. App and data and its google play link so when you restore through titanium backup it will show back up in your Google Play My Apps lists. THe file explorers have other advantages in managing your files but overall they fail for back up purposes when compared to titanium backup. IF YOU ARE NOT ROOTED they are virtually all the same. pick one and be done.
Rida
Here is the way I used to backup my phone. Its a backup app called Backup Caretaker and it created backup of SMS, MMS, Call logs, contacts , system settings, alarms and dictionary. I downloaded the Lite version to create backup on SD card. If some one is interested in online backup, he can download the Pro version ... very user friendly I must say ...

rajeevk
If you have a Samsung handset, then Kies helps you to create a backup and restore them. Other than this "App Backup & Restore" may help.

MarkOliver
You should check out Trubackup (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tfl.tbp) it backups more than just your app data, it’ll take care of your texts, contacts and media as well. Its cloud based so you’ll still have all your data if you lose your phone
