What's a trusted site for used androids?

Recommended Posts

I normally have a tight budget, so I have to settle on finding refurbished or used phones, for the most part. I'm looking for a trusted site that sells used phones, refurbished or not. I have Verizon's Droid X from a friend at Verizon that he used, looking to upgrade soon. Psywar turned me onto this site last night, so I figured I'd ask people who know what they're talking about! :)

Might I also suggest Swappa.

Swappa is a marketplace for buying and selling gently used Android devices. Only fully functional, ready to activate Android devices are allowed (no phones with bad ESNs, water damage or cracked screens).

I've had good luck with craigslist. A year and half ago I bought a 1 month old DROID X for $200 which was a steal. Since they are local, you can make sure that you can activate the phone before exchanging any money. eBay is also okay, but you should always get the ESN number to make sure it's open before buying anything used. If the seller won't give it, then stay away.

Thanks for the suggestions! I dont have the money just yet for a new phone, but i will next month. The Droid Charge looks awesome, but i know you'll probably want more than i'm willing to spend for it lol. Thanks though!

I second craigslist. Of course, you have to be careful about meeting in a public place, and check the phone over before you buy it, but you can get some really good deals.

I want to try craiglist, but all the decent ones kept getting bought right away. I come to find out the buddy i bought my droid x from at verizon was buying them all, doing any repairs, updates, maintenance needed, then reselling them -.- Nice lite business he has going, right? Haha.

Yeah, you have to be looking all the time for a new posting for the phone you want. People are definitely flipping phones on craigslist, but it's still cheaper than paying full price at Verizon!
