tekmosis
With the recent launch of Google Wallet in the US, from my understanding it's only available so far on the Google Nexus w/ ICS. Will you be able to use Google Wallet with say, the Galaxy S2 or is it a hardware restriction as well? I figured it would work via Bluetooth or WiFi but I'm not sure. I would like to be able to use it when/if it becomes available in Canada.
FU3L
Google Wallet relies on a technology called NFC or Near Field Communication. So far, they actually have to include an NFC chip on the device's battery in order to use it. So they may be able to do it in the future, but yes it would require some sort of hardware upgrade. Redemption
The Galaxy S2 should be NFC enabled, though I know the rumour was some UK ones might not have it. This would be a big mistake on Samsung's part. I'd be curious if your S2 supports NFC tekmosis since you got it late in 2011.
tekmosis
How can I tell if my S2 has NFC or not? My model number is GT-I9100 edit: I found an app called "Z-Device Test" and nope...no NFC for me.
