Just spotted this to confirm your rumor.

Eldar Murtazin has tweeted some interesting information regarding Ice Cream Sandwich to some of Samsung’s most popular phones but we’re not sure how to take it. According to him, the Samsung Galaxy Note and the Samsung Galaxy S2 will “officially” be getting Android 4.0 on March 1st.

I won’t take his word on that “official” part but Murtazin has been reliable with several rumors in the past. If anything, it’s worthy to note that Samsung was well along with Ice Cream Sandwich for the Galaxy S II before most carriers with their flagship phones.

Samsung also has a history of updating their unlocked international version fast despite a reputation of providing slow updates in  the United States. It’s entirely possible that we could see Ice Cream Sandwich next month but we’re not going to take one man’s word on that.

We’ll be trying to see what Samsung has to say about this. In the meantime, are you already running an Ice Cream Sandwich ROM on either of these devices? Let us know in the comments below!

I've been keeping tabs on this myself, since I'm a GSII droidy. Although the official approximate date is March 1st, remember that it's approximate. It also has to do with your carrier and if Samsung actually gets it out in time. This is just to be safe to make sure when March 1st rolls along and nothing happens, your head isn't falling off =P

1st of March is correct if you live in Israel. Samsung has stated that all Galaxy S 2's (carrier branded and international versions) will get the update. When the rest of us are going to get it is still a mystery, here's hoping by the end of Q2.

PS. I'm in Australia so we are going to be about 6 years late at the rate we get stuff in Australia :( ;)
