Unlocking bootloader problem

Hello! Recently I tried to root my htc one s with locked bootloader. I tried Framaroot,Vroot,Unlock Root,Superoneclick, but those didn't work. Maybe cause I have locked bootloader,so I decided to unlock it. From now on I have a big problem. The only reason I NEED root is because I want to use DiskDigger to recover my photos. On my device these are on userdata partition. I heard that unlocking bootloader is like factory reset. I don't care about what I can lose now (anyway I recover then),cause I have only some games and contacts. I can do factory reset ten times per day and I don't care. My phone is anyway like I just bought it. The only thing I'm scared as hell is losing the old partition. I lost those photos cause I needed factory reset. I didn't have backup. After factory reset my phone has a new partition right? The old one can be deleted forever if I unlock bootloader?
