i bought two Nuxus and one rite out of the box did not work. The ear speaker was dead on arrival. The other one I bought was so bad at losing network connections rite here in the middle of town. Finally I returned it also and had my droid activated. now I am waiting again for a new great phone, but it will not ever ever ever be a Samsung again.

This was the second Samsung I have owned and the second time I had returned them, first was about 3 years ago. It is Moto or LG for me, they have great phones.

Dude sorry to hear that :(

I must say, my Galaxy Nexus has been superb. It's my second Samsung phone, first was a Charge, and I've liked them both, except for Touchwiz on the Charge but I got rid of that ASAP. I've also had HTC and Motorola, both of those were good too, solid performers, an Incredible and Xoom respectively. I think the only major player I haven't been with on Android yet is LG.

You're not missing anything Jim. LG is towards the bottom of the barrel.

I agree with Robert on this one. I, like Jim, have used all the major players except for LG because a.) I didn't see much advertising and knew very little on them b.) the one's I saw previously were ones like the LG Vortex and I wasn't impressed with their budget phones. Because of that I didn't even bother to look at LG anymore. Side Note - I'm curious to how the Spectrum compares.

The Nexus is the first Samsung device I've used and other than my first one getting a crack on the backside of the screen I am throughly impressed with this device. Although was people say about Samsung radios is true. They aren't the greatest.

I really feel that where you live and the coverage you get there has a lot to do with what you are experiencing as far as radio issues go. I have used phones from all manufacturers and can't say that Samsung is worse than any other brand. I will say this. My Galaxy Nexus has yet to drop a call when the Bionic and Razr both did on various occasions.

That's interesting since most consider Motorola to be the best Android vendor in terms of connectivity. I would perhaps cede build quality to Motorola as well. To me, many of their products feel the best in hand. Too bad they can't make anything I like in terms of software, except for the Xoom. Some people like the lightness of Samsung phones, and I agree it's nice, but I definitely prefer the "expensive" heft.

HTC seems to be the middle ground these days. I liked my Incredible but it was never quite here or there.

Normally I would agree and this is my first Samsung phone, but I've used the big three out right now for Verizon and both the Razr and Rezound were quick with the internet and didn't drop calls. My Nexus has yet to drop a call but it's internet and download speeds are sooooo slow...
