Is Android obsolete since flash player is not available?

Recommended Posts

I know this has been discussed till blue in the face.. I just get a Samsung S5 and still no way to veiw flash content, I am thinking a huge mistake going with a platform that does support the most prevent veiwing platform out there.  Puffen and Dolphin no longer work with flash content, even though some claim they do.
Have I wasted my money, should I return the S5 and get a dreaded iphone instead? Is there any hope in the future to resolving this issue?

Well, basically today if i talk about flash player it doesn't seem like there is much more use of the it but rather than looking at the need of flash player for you I'll suggest you using "Photon flash player and browser" for your Samsung S5. :D

Still waiting on my S5 to arrive, but tried this on my Galaxly Tab 2 10.1 and Photon does not work.. it connects but then will not play.. so still broken. I feel like I am trying to get my Commador 64 to connect through a tellephone line... is there any future for watching media like Amazon Prime on the Android product? Or has this just gone 2 differerent paths and in the great day and age we are are now back to VHS or BETA so one has to choose if he want all then it is iphone and if only parcial data then get the Android.   What am I missing here? Why are we as the customer base allowing this?

I dont think you should return your S5. It is true that Galaxy S5 does not have Flash Player support for browsing Flash content, but that does not mean you cannot try getting that manually — after all, it’s Android. Follow the given instructions to install flash player on your s5

Step-1: Download Flash Player 11.1 APK file on the computer.

Step 2Download ASTRO File Manager from the Android Market on your phone. You can use any other file manager as well.

Step-3: On the Galaxy S5 navigate to Settings>> Applications>> check Unknown sources box then tap OK

Step-4: Connect the phone to the computer and move the downloaded Adobe_Flash_Player_11.1.apk file to the SD card of the phone

Step-5: Unplug the USB cable from the phone then navigate through the app to the directory where the AKP file is saved

Step-6: Tap on Adobe_Flash_Player_11.1.apkfile. A pop up will appear. Now tap on Open App Manger button

Step-7: Tap on Installbutton. It will now show the Android installation interface, where it will show you the permissions required for the app. Tap Install again. The installation should begin now

That’s it! The Flash Player 11.1 app is now installed on your Samsung Galaxy S5.

Galaxy S4 Users can install flash player on their devices by followng this thread http://androidforum.com/topic/3645-adobe-flash-player-for-galaxy-s4/
