dawma
I have an Advent TegraNote-P1640 tablet running Android 4.4.2. I have added a 32 GB sd card, but am having problems copying data. With the tablet connected to my PC, I can copy a file from the PC to a folder on internal storage (0), and to a folder on sdcard1 OK. I can also copy or move files between the folders using the PC. However, using ES File Explorer on the tablet, I can only copy/move in one direction, from sdcard1 to (0), trying to copy or move a file from (0) to the sdcard1 always fails. I'm very new to Android, although familiar with windows and unix OS's.
John Dave
Well, I get it the problem is your are running Android 4.4.2 KitKat and I the problem with it is the sdcard will remain on the read only mode means the reading from the SD card is possible but writing on the Sdcard is not possible and on the second step you are trying to the same i.e writing in the SD card which is no possible. :( I think you should wait a bit more until next update is being released to fix this bug.
KiloByteKid
John Dave, Do you know when they might get around to fixing this? I find it very annoying... I'm using a Verizon LG tablet that I suppose has been upgraded to this KitKat version of Android (I'm not sure, but I suppose I can poke around to find out). Nevertheless, I can't copy files to a brand new SD card because I finally ran out of storage on the device (16 GB). Thanks, KBK

nibor5
I could copy & paste to my sdcard no prob using ESfile explorer until I uninstalled APKinstaller. (Thought it wasn't required....ha!). That's when I got the "cannot write to external SD" messages. Have just reinstalled APKinstaller and can now copy&paste from my tegranotes download folder to my sdcard with ESfile explorer again, no rooting, no dodgy fixes!:-)
nibor5
Had the same problem with my tegranote 7 after I uninstalled ApkInstaller. I didn't think I needed it anymore, wrong! Reinstalled it and can now copy/move etc between internal and external sdcard once again with ESmanager with no problem. Sorry about double posting, thought 1st one failed ;-) And no, I have no idea why apk installer cures the problem it just did.
