asdf.af
Good evening guys! I have a problem with my Neken N6 android smartphone. Every time I plug it to a PC, when I then select the option to unmount the internal SD card and mount it to the PC, the phone suddenly reboots. That wan't happening when I bought it, but I don't know which app is making the difference since the problem started. I've looked to the apps on the SD card and I don't imagine any of them crashing the phone because of a forced closing: none of them are system-related. Is there any way to see information about what makes the system crash? Any log, dump, etc? Thank you in advance!
John Dave
Well, have your tried doing a soft factory reset? If not them I'll suggest try doing a soft factory reset as it will not delete your data it will only reset the whole settings back to the time you have purchased your device. If that still doesn't helps you other then I would say back up data and perform a complete factory reset, It may be happening because of some application which you have installed might be interfering with the normal working of the ....
asdf.af
Yeah, it's obvious that after a factory reset the phone will work as good as before, but I'd like to find a less destructive solution ;)
John Dave
Yeah, it's obvious that after a factory reset the phone will work as good as before, but I'd like to find a less destructive solution ;) I don't thing there's any less destruction option available ! :P I'll rather say over here that you ran out of choices. asdf.af
Well, I have hope on android having some kind of logging tool to see what happens before a crash. On windows I can analyze dumps on BSODs and discover the issue
John Dave
Well, I have hope on android having some kind of logging tool to see what happens before a crash. On windows I can analyze dumps on BSODs and discover the issue So, what type of issue you have encountered ??? I haven't used tools to analyse so .... whenever I used to ran onto problem the first thing I'll do is factory resetting and it looks you have you own way of identifying where the problem is !! asdf.af
Well, I come from the Windows world and there first you try to diagnose the problem, then if you don't know whow to solve you format. In android formatting is the first thing you do? That's hard, that involves backing up everything and reiinstalling o.O So, what type of issue you have encountered ??? The one it's described above: some process is crashing the OS when it politely asks the application to close. An OS crash is something serious and I'd be surprised if no information dumps are recorded

I don't think there's anything other than this is going to help you out !

John Dave
What a shame. Thank you for your experience! No, I don't think there is any need to be shame on moving forward with a factory reset ! Tell you what sometime there is a need of initialisation .... and I guess you are facing the same problem your device needs re-initialisation and moving forward with the factory reset will .... !
