Google TV

Best way I found to sideload apps is to upload any APKs to Dropbox, then visit the Dropbox site in the browser to download them to the Revue. Actually, you can install the Dropbox app that way then just use the app.

I also think it supports installing from a USB drive but I have not tried that.

Unless you're in the market for a brand new TV, I wouldn't go buy a TV just because of Google. I would get a box like the Revue. Problem is the Revue is dead now, but you could find one on Ebay. Vizio is coming out with one soon. Actually I think they have two boxes coming. Here's the one they have on the way: http://www.talkandroid.com/82965-82965/. The reason I like the standalones is because they have HDMI pass through which is really nice. It also looks like VIZIO might have the inside track with Google on future updates.

Problem with the Revue is it's not a great media streamer and no DLNA. For media streaming I used a WD Live. I have three of them in my house all streaming from my media server. I'm not sure how Vizio's models will be for streaming or if they will have DLNA.

The Revue is really nice, but I really don't use it a lot. I find for web browsing and stuff like that, I just whip my phone out of my pocket.

Yeah I really only want a box. I just dropped a chunk of change on my tv set up and I am not looking to replace that anytime soon. A box would make the most logical sense for me.

Not sure what you guys mean about not supporting DLNA. My Revue can stream movies and music from my DLNA server through apps like Avia. Sure, I had to install an app, but it's free, works great, and doesn't require me to set up a special server like Plex does. It just uses DLNA.

Or am I not understanding exactly what you guys mean?

I also have a Logitech Revue. The hundred dollar price point was what sold it for me. I remember getting it and then waiting an excruciating two weeks or so last year for that big update. Prior to the update it was sort of clunky. Now, it's just another fantastic android device in my house. I know you can get apps from 50 other devices, like xbox or wii or what have you, but I like the interface and the simplicity.

How diferent is the Logitech Revue from the chinies android mini PC seen on DX or other low price/free shipping sites?

I got a news letter with an ad for a HDMI android 4.0 PC that looks nice but had no wireless mouse or keypad.

Can it turn My regular TV to a google TV?

thats the link from the ad http://www.dealextreme.com/p/137012?r=18389797 but does it worth the risk of ordering from china and waiting 3 weeks?

A google tv with ICS. That is cool. What is the diiference between that and the LogiTech Revue? What you posted a link to there is a Rolls Royce. The LogiTech Revue is a lime green 72' Gremlin. That's the difference.
